Fort Morgan~~ Gulf Shores… A must do on your bucket list

Aug 3,2011 Gulf Shores 018
This Fort is located on Mobile Point, at the end of the Fort Morgan Peninsula.

Fort Morgan, Alabama

A great place to rent a beach house if you have young ones or even older ones and just relax on the beach! Take a drive to the USS Alabama and tour an actual battleship or just take in the sights. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Flip_Flop_Traveler now on Instagram

Today I created an Instagram page called flip_flop_traveler of vacations pictures. It is an idea I have been tossing around for awhile and I love my personal family Instagram page so I thought I would make a public one and just post random vacation pictures. For my steady followers you know I am a huge fan of traveling in general, from local destinations, to state parks like Yellowstone and Estes Park, all things Mexico, Bahamas (Not so much a fan of the cruise we took), Savannah, Wyoming, Kentucky, Tennessee, Fort Morgan, Chicago, St. Louis, Florida, Colorado, Wisconsin Dells and too many more to mention. This is where my Instagram comes in at! We have been blessed to have been able to visit some spectacular places and I wanted another venue to share some of my favorite pictures on. If you want to follow me you can go to your Instagram account and search flip_flop_traveler, my profile picture is me sitting on a huge rock somewhere in Colorado.

We have always traveled with our children so if you have any questions about traveling with your kids to any of these places, please ask.

This picture below is my oldest son fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.

If you have tips on anything Instragram please share them 🙂

Happy Monday!

Smelling flowers
So my time of organizing is coming to an organized end 🙂 I am almost done with my walk-in closet, ( I was lost for hours in a mountain of hangers this weekend and I thought a search party was going to have to be dispatched for me) my biggest tip I can share with you is to do it in small chunks. For me I set out to tackle it every morning while I was getting ready. I have been picking out five– YES 5 things every morning and deciding if they make the cut or not. When I say make the cut I am actually asking myself, “Do I Love It?” If not, if I cannot remember the last time I wore it it goes in my donate pile. My donate pile is becoming quite large!

Something strange I have noticed since I started reorganizing my home, I have no desire to go shopping! Recently, when I have been to the store I am asking myself over and over again, “Will this item actually be used or am I going to donate it to Goodwill in six months?”

Another helpful tip I heard while doing research on reorganizing is DO Not Buy Organizers for your junk. You do not want to reorganize your junk, you want to get rid of it. You want to organize the stuff you actually want.

Take five minutes and hit a clutter hot spot in your home.

Hope you have a great week! I plan on posting our recent Vacation pictures the rest of the week! Hope you enjoy them and don’t forget to sign up for updates on this Brunettes Reflection

DIY 5 Minute Challenge for Today

MP900399350 Think about that hotspot in your house that catches clutter. Got it pictured? Good. Now get up and go to it and then set your phone timer and clear the clutter for only 5 minutes. That is it. You don’t have to finish today, just get through the 5 minutes. If you completed the whole 5 minutes pat yourself on the back. If you didn’t get through the 5 minutes then take heart! Set your alarm for later in the day or tomorrow and try again. We can get this done, YOU can de-clutter your house. I am going to be sharing a project I have been working on for myself, the progress I have made, and what I did to get my walk-in closets organized.
